2025 bathroom renovation trends

Personalized and luxurious design on a budget

Personalization on a budget is key in 2025 bathroom design. Finding the sweet spot in creating a space that is both functional and a personal retreat while also being cost effective is the goal. There are a wide range of off the shelf bathroomware products that are very good quality, aesthetically attractive and at a good price point. Being smart about product selection can ensure that a bathroom renovation can be both luxurious and cost effective.

customisable vanities

There are now a number of bathroom vanity & cabinetry suppliers that offer a large range of customizable vanity options. This is a far more cost effective option than going to a fully custom made vanity. Suppliers are now offering various options for basin placement, drawer front detailing, benchtops and cabinetry finish (either timber or paint finish). Generally the sizes of the vanities are kept to a standard size (600, 750, 900, 1000, 1200, 1500, 1800mm) but with a well thought out bathroom design we can make these sizes work in most instances.

Thoughtful lighting

Lighting plays a crucial role in the functionality & mood of the bathroom. LED striplights under a vanity are an extremely practical low level light source for those night time visits to the bathroom. Vanity task lighting is also important to get right and there are many options now to consider. Wall mounted lighting can provide an attractive design element/s to the space while also providing the functionality of the task lighting required. For a more minimalist look, LED backlit mirrors can also tick both boxes. The added benefit of LED mirrors is that most have demisters integrated and some even have bluetooth speakers so you can groove along to your favorite tunes while doing your morning ritual! LED strip lighting in shower & bath recesses are also becoming a common installation.

Colourway options are here to stay

The various colourway options for tapware & fittings are here to stay. The popularity of black has waned a little possibly because of overuse over the past 5 years, sometimes not in a good way! However, black can be very effective and look great with a thoughtful bathroom design. Brushed nickel and gunmetal have been the high flyers over the past 2 years and we expect to see brushed nickel dominate the colourway over the next 12 months due to its versatility to match different looks.

Natural Elements and Earthy Tones

Incorporating natural materials such as stone, timber, and plants continues to be a trend. These elements help to create a calm, spa-like atmosphere. Earthy tones like warm beiges, soft greys, and muted greens will continue to be popular choices for wall colors and fixtures in 2025.
